Under the pressure of European regulations, which are banning the use of toxic metals such as MERCURY, with the HERMES project we wanted to study the possibility of using “eco-friendly” catalysts such as BISMUTO, ZINC, ZIRCONIUM and TIN to produce GREEN and ECO SUSTAINABLE RESINS.

HERMES therefore wants to bring to the market a new generation of bicomponent resins, in which the elements are environmentally friendly, thanks to materials of natural origin and not of chemical synthesis.

OBJECTIVES ACHIEVED

The new catalysis systems have involved studies for the redesign of the stability systems (UV absorber filters) of the resins against the effects of aging and the study of high frequency electric fields and microwave irradiation systems to be used to improve catalysis and drying of the new resins produced.

The pilot plant built was equipped with a new ad-hoc control logic, designed and built within the project, the HERMES BOARD.

All the electronics and control logic have been created in compliance with the dictates of INDUSTRY 4.0, as they are able to communicate upstream downstream of the production chain with other devices from an Internet of the things perspective and with the use of systems Cloud for data exchange.
